Hue — the tooth’s underlying base color. It changes three times within a single tooth — gumline, body, and biting edge — so Daniele matches each zone separately. Match only one, and the restoration looks like it came from someone else’s mouth.

Chroma — the color’s intensity has to move with hue and value at once; too saturated looks fake, too flat looks embalmed.

Value — the lightness or darkness apart from color, and the first thing a stranger notices without knowing why.

Translucency — real enamel scatters light through every layer behind it; Daniele hand-builds it in micron-thin passes from 50 shades of white, or it looks like a chalky cap.

Texture — the microscopic ridges that catch light unevenly; skip them and porcelain looks like plastic.

Depth — color shifting through layers of enamel and dentin in fractions of a millimeter; without it, a restoration looks flat as a denture tooth.

Fluorescence — the faint UV glow invisible in normal light and easy to forget; skip it, and a phone flash exposes the restoration instantly.
